I am a licensed mental health counselor in private practice in Palm Beach County, Florida. I am also credentialed as a Certified Addictions Professional, (CAP) and certified as an EMDR trauma therapist. I received my master’s degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida and my undergraduate degree from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. I grew up in Sea Girt, New Jersey and moved to South Florida upon graduation in 1987.
Throughout my entire life, I have had a natural affinity to help others struggling. I am fascinated with brain pathology and behaviors and I chose this profession to enact positive change in people’s lives. My work as a psychotherapist has been significantly enhanced through my own life’s challenging experiences and triumphs. I believe in therapy and have personally experienced effective and non-effective therapists along my journey.
I am a member of the Florida Mental Health Counselor’s Association, the Mental Health Counselor’s Association of Palm Beach County and a member of the South Florida Christian Counselor’s Association. I am always striving to improve and educate myself to further serve my client’s needs. I’m described as being warm, compassionate, responsive and active in the therapeutic process. I am committed to my clients.
In addition to my professional life, for the past 14 years, I have been an active member of the Junior League of the Palm Beaches, a nonprofit organization focused on children’s welfare. I currently serve on their Board of Directors. I have been active in many other philanthropic and business organizations throughout the past 25 years.
