Hello everyone !
This is my first post of my first blog! My goal is to deliver content from a variety of personal and relational mental health topics. I want to know what you are interested in learning more about so please be open about commenting. In addition to my blog on my website, every Monday I do a Mental Health Mondays column on my professional Facebook page.
The following was a post from my Mental Health Mondays column a couple of weeks ago on Facebook. CODEPENDENCY | ATTACHMENT DISORDER | HEALING PAINFUL RELATIONSHIP PATTERNS.
If you are familiar with the term Codependency, chances are it has impacted you in some way either as a result of your own feelings and behaviors or you have been the target of another person’s codependency. Unhealthy codependency negatively impacts how people feel about themselves and their relationships.
In order to improve the way you feel, first you must begin learning about Codependency. It is often described as being addicted to people and the withdraw that can accompany codependent relationships is painful both emotionally and physically.
Codependency is felt in varying degrees of frequency and intensity. The emotional pain is more than some can handle. There is help by getting a new perspective on taking care of yourself ! Learning the origin and why you respond to relationships the way you do is only part of your healing. If you need personalized attention I am here to help. I counsel in my offices in West Palm Beach & Palm Beach Gardens, and through VCee Telehealth conferencing.
Check out the following link which discusses suggestions to heal the codependency in your relationships by beginning to focus on you and who your really are. It all begins with developing a relationship with yourself.
